Nigel Barry is the Founder and CEO of Intelfuse, a start up that is focused on automating the classification of LIDAR point clouds associated with Electrical transmission and Distribution Assets.
This leading edge integrated software processing system “Datafuse 3D” is targeted at transforming the asset inspection processes of the international Electrical Distribution and Transmission industry with the key objective of providing a single truth data source whilst “removing boots from the field” that allows Utilities to understand for the first time the real risk profile associated with their overhead networks.
In 1995, after 10 years with the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Nigel co-founded the Vemco Group and its associated entities which specialised in the provision of traditional asset risk management functions for the Electrical Networks. Key areas of expertise in the electrical industry include; development of strategies to minimise bushfire risk with respect to the rural electrical networks, developing and implementing industry leading service provider contracts, building international industry networks in the USA and Asia, importing a range of industry specific products and setting up a national sales distribution network for these products and equipment. The Vemco Group was sold in 2014.
He has also been a Non Executive Director of Energy Brix (Morwell Power Station and Brown Coal Briquette Factory) and HRL Limited (an R & D entity focused on the gasification of brown coal.)
As an aside Nigel retains an active interest in Agriculture in both the Beef and Wine industries.
