Life-cycle Flows of Materials and Energy at Scott Base Antarctica

A streamlined Life Cycle Assessment was used to model the operations at Antarctica’s Scott Base.

In partnership with Otago University, this study used a streamlined Life Cycle Assessment to model the annual whole of system impacts associated with operations at Antarctica’s Scott Base and also examined the role of behaviours and practises in directing material and energy flows. This initially involved a site visit to the Antarctic in late 2011.
