Open Space in Australian Schools
Extending on the Building the Education Revolution (BER Australian Government program 2007-10), this research investigates improved learning facilities across Australia through the design and refurbishment of new and existing infrastructure and open space. Focusing on landscape spaces as being integral, and instrumental in learning and teaching activities, but also and more relevantly encouraging the continuity and integration of indoor and outdoor spaces as a principal for sustainable design. Essendon Primary School was tested as a case-study.
