Roger Kemp is Program Manager of RMIT’s Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours).
Roger’s background in commercial and hospitality design is what initially sparked his interest in the way interiors influence the workings, both spatial and social, of a contemporary city.
His global view of design education has driven him to initiate student travel projects to Seoul, South Korea and Doha, Qatar.
In his active design research practice, ‘Making Distance’, in collaboration with Anthony Fryatt, he uses a range of media including film, installation, exhibition, drawings, models, montage and text to explore interiors beyond the restrictive parameter of interior space. This work has been published, with associated works exhibited internationally.
Roger has received university awards for both Teaching and Research.
